January 1950's theatre scene - Best of 1949 - Guilherme Figueiredo

7 January 1950 - Maria Daniel & Jorge Murad's 'Ele vem aí' with Evilasio Marçal, Linda Rodrigues, Zaquia Jorge, Carlos Tovar and Ankito, 'o cômico-revelação' at Teatro Follies, at Copacabana, Posto 6.
7 January 1950 - José Wanderley & Daniel Rocha's 'Aconteceu naquela noite' at Teatro Rival; Silveira Sampaio in 'A garçonière do meu marido' at Teatro de Bolso in Ipanema; Guilherme Figueiredo's 'Um deus dormiu lá em casa', directed by Silveira Sampaio, with Tonia Carrero, Paulo Autran and Vera Nunes; Bibi Ferreira in 'Beija-me e verás' at Teatro Regina.

11 January 1950 - Luiz Peixoto & Barreto Pinto's 'Chegou o general da banda!' with more stars than the heavens (even though it was not MGM) Dircinha Baptista, Jorge Goulart, Dalva de Oliveira etc.
11 January 1950 - Guilherme Figueiredo's 'Um deus dormiu lá em casa' at Teatro Copacabana which had got all 1949's awards for best author, best director (Silveira Sampaio), best new actress (Tonia Carrero), best new actor (Paulo Autran) and best cenographer (Carlos Thiré).
a 17-year-old Guilherme Figueiredo (*13 February 1915, in Campinas-SP + 24 May 1997, in Rio)  with his father Colonel Euclydes Figueired in 1932. His younger brother João would become the last of military-presidents Brazil had from 1964 through to 1985.
